So okay, the name isn't as catchy as Amaranthium... But out of respect we lay that name to rest. So, you're stuck with this.

But just what Is this? Well, that is a valid question. So, you will recieve a valid answer. This is the unofficial soundtrack to Amaranthine: Empires.

Unofficial? Yes, because whilst this will be acknowledged in a sense, it will never truly be considered canon. Unless you do it yourself, your characters "big reveal" will never have your truly epic theme behind it (unless you're lucky).

However, that being said, music listed below Will be used during Events (both Plot and Background) on Amaranthine Radio. So, if you're taking part in an epic duel, you may hear your battle theme playing on the radio. Or your opponent may hear theirs. Think of it as a momentum shift, or as a way to truly show up your enemy. Defeating them whilst Their music plays? Epic victory.

So, with that explained I'm going to have to list a few rules and suggestions. Rules MUST be followed, suggestions are quite simply that; guidelines we provide to make things easier for everybody.

RulesEdit

  1. No "radio" songs. This is primarily to avoid copyright. I don't care how much Justin Bieber suits your character, you can't have it. Now, of course all music is copyrighted in some sense, and the fact we're not making money off it spares us from most potential lawsuits, but just try to avoid any music owned by big record labels who may find amusement in targeting small Minecraft servers. If you can tune into a large, commercial radio station and hear it, we don't want it.
  2. There must be a version available to stream. Okay, it's true. I admit that I don't own every song ever created. I doubt if I'm the only one that applies to, so a YouTube link for example allows for people who may not know the song to listen to it. Everybody is happy. If the song has to be downloaded to be heard, it cannot be used here.
  3. Songs are per-character. Unless there is some situation that allows otherwise (a family anthem, for example) songs may be used by only one character. If somebody else has a song you wanted, then tough. Find something else. Duplicate songs will be replaced, usually with something you won't like. Similar songs may be accepted, assuming they are different enough (An instrumental version of an existing song would not be accepted. See the Locke songs for what Would be acceptable: All the same song, but so many technical differences).

GuidelinesEdit

  1. We suggest you fill in all categories of music. That is to say, if you look at the existing characters/locations you'll see multiple themes listed. Whilst you don't have to assign them all a song, it's advisable to do so to avoid losing any epic songs at a later date.
  2. If using songs with lyrics, try to avoid swearing. Whilst not strictly enforced, remember that not everybody is comfortable hearing bad language, not to mention those who play music via speakers in an area parents/younger siblings can hear. Try to keep it to a minimum. And on that note...
  3. Instrumental or choral songs generally work better. It's just true. Choral refers to songs written specfically for a choir (Example: One-Winged Angel). Having your character theme as Stairway to Heaven seems a little far-fetched, and it detracts from the atmosphere. Game Soundtracks, Classical Music, Orchestrated Pieces...all fine, and all carry that vibe we're looking for.
  4. Source material. Of course, one of the things you need to remember is that you are a character in a fantasy world. This is a world where pop/rock music doesn't really exist in the same sense as reality. Your character is a merchant, but their theme is Beast and the Harlot? Try not to just choose songs you like, but rather songs that fit both your character and the world around them.
  5. Try to provide songs that can be downloaded free. By that I mean without wearing the eyepatch and saying "arrr!" Sites such as OCRemix are a good source for this. Whilst yes, any song can theoretically be ripped from YouTube, some people may be unconfortable doing so.
  6. Cliché is good. Whilst you may feel uncomfortable using some songs because they just fit Too well, don't let that put you off. Just take a look at some of the music used in the admin characters, and you'll see that we're not afraid to pull a few punches.
7) There is a certain song I am waiting for somebody to choose. When they do so, they will officially become my nemesis...good luck ~

So, without further delay, let's get to it!

CharactersEdit

(Template)Edit

Character Name: Your Character's Name. Use Bold, Heading 3. Leave a space between you and person above.

Main Theme: The primary theme of your character. What would play when they were seen

Battle Theme: The theme for your character when they are in battle. Straight forward enough.

Victory Theme: This theme does not simply apply to when a battle is won. This is the theme that can play when a plan comes together, when an objective is completed or even when they just get what they want. This theme simply portrays that your character has achieved something. See examples A and B .
